Luis is President and Chief Revenue Officer of The Zig. Luis believes that technology can empower people to transform their lives which aligns perfectly with The Zig’s mission to unlock Africa’s potential through technology. Luis’ goal is to expand The Zig’s mission to other developing regions.
Luis began his career at Goldman Sachs. Luis worked in its Equity Research division covering Information Services (B2B technology companies). Prior to joining Equity Research, he worked in its Private Wealth Operations division helping lead the only revenue generating team within Operations.
After Goldman, Luis joined West Partners (a single-family office). Luis’ responsibilities included working closely with portfolio companies on growth strategy, improving operations, and setting strategic initiatives. Luis also helped lead the sale of two businesses for over $450mn.
Luis then left finance for the tech sector,joining FactSet’s Institutional Sales team. While there, he was responsible for a book of business worth over $12M and surpassed his sales goals by 100%, 270%, and 500%.
Luis received his B.B.A. in Finance from West Texas A&M University and his M.S. in Finance from the University of Utah. Luis is a CFA charterholder.
Luis is a Board Member of Latinos LEAD, whose mission is to prepare and recruit Latino leaders for nonprofit governing board service. He is also involved with the Bresee Foundation, whose mission is to battle poverty by empowering youth and families in Los Angeles with the skills,resources, and relationships necessary to thrive.
In his free time, Luis enjoys trying new restaurants (favorite is still Xi’an Famous Foods), sports (favorite is basketball), reading, and watching tv/movies.
